In the previous fiscal year, Salil Parekh earned a total of Rs 56.4 crore, amounting to approximately Rs 15.4 lakh per day. However, this figure reflects a decrease of Rs 15.6 crore compared to his salary in the previous year.
Salil Parekh, the CEO and MD of Infosys, is recognized as one of the highest-paid CEOs globally. With Infosys holding a market cap of approximately Rs 5.47 lakh crore, Salil Parekh brings over three decades of experience in the IT industry. He is also actively involved in various industry bodies, contributing to the sector's growth and development. Salil Parekh completed his aeronautical engineering degree from IIT Bombay and further pursued his master's in computer science and mechanical engineering from Cornell University in the United States.
Prior to his tenure at Infosys, Salil Parekh served as a partner at EY and held a position on the board of Capgemini, where he played a key role in driving the company's growth in India.
In the previous fiscal year, Salil Parekh earned a total of Rs 56.4 crore, amounting to approximately Rs 15.4 lakh per day. However, this figure reflects a decrease of Rs 15.6 crore compared to his salary in the previous year. The decline can be attributed to his choice of a lower amount of stock options, exercising only Rs 30.6 crore. Additionally, his variable pay stood at Rs 18.73 crore, and he received Rs 45 lakh as retiral benefits, as reported by ET.
It's worth noting that Salil Parekh's counterpart at Wipro, Thierry Delaporte, received a total of Rs 83 crore in compensation.
Furthermore, Nandan Nilekani, the executive chairman of Infosys, did not draw any salary for the year. Meanwhile, the company's CFO, Nilanjan Roy, witnessed a 28 percent increase in earnings, earning Rs 10.61 crore compared to the previous year.
In another development, Mohit Joshi, who recently joined Tech Mahindra, received a payment of Rs 57.3 crore.
Salil Parekh's impressive achievements, extensive experience, and leadership in the IT sector position him as a prominent figure within Infosys and the global business landscape.
