Google India and Startup India have joined forces to unveil Startup School 2023, a virtual program designed to support and uplift startups located in non-major cities across India. Scheduled to commence on July 11, the upcoming edition of the program will run for eight weeks, offering comprehensive learning opportunities.
The curriculum of Startup School 2023 encompasses a wide range of subjects crucial to startup success, including marketing, product and tech strategy, artificial intelligence (AI), fundraising, and leadership. By collaborating with Startup India, Google aims to equip startup founders with essential knowledge and tools to accelerate the growth of their businesses, as highlighted in a blog post.
This innovative initiative brings together approximately 30 industry experts from Google, accomplished entrepreneurs, leaders from diverse sectors, and venture capitalists. The participation of these seasoned professionals will provide valuable insights and mentorship to aspiring startups, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
Selected startups will have the exclusive opportunity to engage in personalized one-on-one mentoring sessions and connect with India's top venture capitalists, facilitating valuable networking prospects. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has expressed its commitment to supporting approximately 30,000 startups through the Startup School 2023 initiative.
In a blog post, Google revealed that the inaugural edition of Startup School garnered active participation from over 14,000 startups across more than 600 towns in India. This demonstrates the immense potential and enthusiasm within the Indian startup ecosystem.
Manmeet K Nanda, Joint Secretary of DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, expressed delight in launching the Google Startup School 2023, a program supported by Startup India and DPIIT. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision as laid down in January 2016 with the introduction of the Startup India initiative.
By leveraging the expertise and resources of Google and Startup India, Startup School 2023 aims to empower startups across non-major cities in India, fostering their growth, and contributing to the overall development of the Indian startup ecosystem.
