Gautam Adani's Adani Digital Labs, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has announced its acquisition of a 100% stake in Trainman, an esteemed online train booking and information platform. This move further solidifies Adani's presence in the digital space and its commitment to delivering enhanced customer experiences in the travel industry.

Under a share purchase agreement, Adani Digital Labs is set to acquire the complete ownership of Trainman, also known as Stark Enterprises Private Limited (SEPL).

Trainman, founded in 2011 by Vineet Gupta and Sachin Saxena, graduates of IIT Roorkee, is a popular Indian travel booking app. It empowers passengers to conveniently check their train status, predict seat confirmations, and receive real-time updates on availability, schedules, fares, and more.

The success of Trainman has attracted notable investors, including Goodwater Capital, a California-based consumer tech investor, and Hem Angels, based in Mumbai. Moreover, the startup has secured funding from prominent individuals such as Vijay Aggarwal, Chief Technology Officer of BharatPe, Nitin Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of Mall 91, and Vishal Kanodia, Director of Kanodia Cement Ltd, among others.

This acquisition marks Adani Enterprises' second investment in the travel booking and information sector, highlighting its strategic focus on digital expansion.

In addition to the acquisition, Adani Enterprises has recently appointed Nitin Sethi, former vice president of Indigo, as their Chief Digital Officer. Sethi's expertise will further drive Adani's digital initiatives and propel the company's growth in the digital landscape.

Led by Rajan Bansal, former vice president of Airtel, Adani Digital aims to develop an integrated platform known as an omnichannel. This platform will enable customers to seamlessly interact with all of Adani Group's business-to-consumer (B2C) enterprises, providing a unified and user-friendly experience.

Adani Digital Labs' acquisition of Trainman represents a significant step in Adani's digital transformation journey, enhancing its offerings in the travel sector and strengthening its position as a leader in the online train booking space.
